Hi friends…wow..2012 is flying by! So much has happened since my last post. fibi & clo’s parents got married!! On May 5th, Michael and I tied the knot in Austin, Texas surrounded by our closest friends and family. Thank you to everyone who helped make our day truly special plus The Nichols Photography (www.jnicholsphoto.com) for capturing all the wonderful memories and Misty Duncan (www.mistyduncanevents.com) for being the best wedding planner in the world, collaborating and being patient with me and all my wackadoo ideas!
After the wedding, Michael and I set off on our honeymoon to Paris and the French Riviera. He planned the whole thing all by himself! I’m a lucky girl Some of the Paris highlights were vintage clothes shopping, macaroons (salted caramel were our fave), and the Louvre and Tower of course! Then we headed to the South of France and ventured our way through Nice, Monaco (where to our surprise the Historique Grand Prix was going on!), Eze (where you’ll see the pic of the giant Chess board in someone’s back yard), Saint Tropez, Cannes and Cap d’Antibes.
Another highlight was getting to stay at the beautiful Belles Rives in Cap d’Antibes (www.bellesrives.com). F. Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald called this place home for many summers! Just walking into this beautifully grand hotel you can feel the rich history. The staff was also super friendly and just very down-to-earth. It was our last stop on our honeymoon and even though I was sad to go, it was the perfect breathtaking view to soak in before heading back to reality and NYC.
As this year comes to a close, I am reflecting on all the blessings we’ve had this year. fibi & clo grew from one rep to almost 40, we had our first annual fibi & clo fest, we gained a lot of new fans and the feedback on the shoes overall has been incredible. We also had the opportunity to go back to China to check on our factories and work on some new development for 2012! We left on Thanksgiving morning and stopped in Tokyo, Japan for a couple of days. We also stopped by Shanghai, which I’d been wanting to see for a long time. They used to call it the Paris of the East and rightfully so, the buildings are stunning and the detailed architecture is pure perfection. It was an exhausting 11-day trip, but I was able to get a lot of work done. I’m hopeful that 2012 will bring much success for our fashion agents and that the new line will bring a lot of excitement for our fans. We’ll have some more new styles and wedges to come and (fingers crossed) they’ll be ready in May! In the meantime, I wish you all a happy holiday season and a happy new year! Cheers! xoxo, analiza.
Sunday, October 16th marked the first annual fibi & clo fest! Some of f&c’s beautiful Independent Fashion Agents drove from all over Texas to join in on the fun. While overlooking the lake at my Austin favorite, The Hula Hut, we had a muy delicioso lunch and cocktails followed by design/creative and sales presentations. After lunch, every IFA (Independent Fashion Agent) was given a wishbone necklace because my wish for them is much success as they pursue their business endeavor. I’m so proud of everything they’ve accomplished. Their drive, energy and creativity is truly inspiring. And trust me, they really do give me the best ideas! Ladies, we couldn’t do it without you, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you for being there so we could all celebrate in person.
And before I stop rambling, an extra CONGRATS goes out to the fibi award winner, Danielle Krieg, for doing the most shows. And the clo award winner, Becky Alba, for having the highest sales.
I’m loving her blog. This gal’s got fabulous style. thanks for the shout out
:-)…check it out:
“Girls just want to have fun…” is exactly what the recently opened stores in Austin and Houston, “Garage,” are all about. The store has been very well established in Canada with over 150 stores and has recently come to the United States and has not seen its success slow down. The store catches ones eye whether it be through the versatile music beats jumping from wall to wall or the big and bright visuals like the huge pink “GARAGE” sign in front of every store or the always buzz-worthy fashion finds in the store. The clothes exude a free spirited, casual, carefree lifestyle which is exactly what we found when we spotted Stephanie Maranado, a buyer for “Garage,” in her “Smoke Cascade” sandals!
Often times, I find that our fibi & clo customers like to ask me about things to do in NYC. So… if you’re coming to the big apple anytime soon, stop by the Met and pay homage to world-renowned fashion designer, Alexander McQueen. The announcement of his sudden death burst through the media waves as a shock on February 11th, 2010. Recently, the Metropolitan Museum of Art opened up an exhibit, which has been wildly successful with over hundreds of thousands of visitors since its opening day, May 4th, in honor of the late designer called “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.” You really get the opportunity to understand the reasoning and inspiration behind anything with the name Alexander McQueen on it. You see him struggle with himself and the fashion industry with personal quotes of his along all the walls, which are doused with over 100 of his pieces. You can find anything from his groundbreaking bumster trousers to his famous armadillo shoes to unfinished pieces for Lady Gaga. So spend a day relaxing in Central Park and then head over to the Met to learn about the legendary designer.
