Trends to Try: Black & White

There are so many trends out there and following them all can be expensive. But following trends can also give you ideas on how to work with what’s already in your closet and help you refresh your look. Here’s one trend worth trying.

Black and White is trending for 2014. These two simple colors can come off as plain and boring, but if you put them together the right way you can create a super chic look.

There runway looks can easily be recreated with white jeans a simple black top or vice versa. Wearing a dressier top can elevate the outfit without having to look like you’re trying too hard.

You could totally pull off this trend with our Sun Cascade or Smoke Cascade. Both of these sandals will pull together any black and white outfit with a touch of sparkle!

Red Carpet Sparkle

I’m not sure what’s more fun about awards shows; the show itself or the red carpet! The Golden Globes Award Show last night took my breath away, not only because I love that Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams and Cate Blanchett all took home awards, but also because the ladies sizzled in sparkle!

While all the dresses oozed glamour and elegance, my top favorites of the night were Naomi Watts in Tom Ford (so sleek and simple), Olivia Wilde in Gucci (who by-the-way showed us the most stylish baby bump ever), Michelle Dockery in Oscar de la Renta (look at that bling detail!), Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren (ok, no sparkle on the dress but wow she sparkles), Jessica Chastain in Givenchy (proves that black doesn’t have to be boring and I loved the black on black detail) , and Emilia Clarke in Proenza Schouler (I absolutely loved the modern cut and fit at the hip). So much chic last night! Which ones were your faves?!

Image

The 2014 collection has been released, and you can see them for yourself by contacting a Fashion Agent near you. fibi & clo is not like a regular designer shoe company. We do not sell our shoes through traditional retail, such as through Bloomingdales or Nordstroms. We showcase our sandals through a nationwide network of talented independent Fashion Agents. The best way to view our sandals is by hosting your own shoe party!

There is nothing more fun than a shoe party. Gather your friends for drinks, shoes and fun. And earn free shoes by doing it! To find a Fashion Agent near you, please email us at info@fibiandclo.com

The 2014 collection was inspired by our designer’s most recent trip to Morocco.

“Every year I find great joy in seeking out special places that not only inspire me, but teach me about the culture via the experience. This year’s journey to Morocco took me through rows of Souks as far as the eye could see, vintage pieces rich in history, and a world of color to forever delight your eyes. I hope you love the 2014 line as much as I loved the path that led me to creating it.”

We look forward to sharing our company, and the 2014 collection with you.

Fancy for Floral

Forget about the Polar Vortex, and the freezing temps outside!!! Let’s think about more pleasant things, like flowers and sandals.

Thanks to thecoralcourt.com for this wonderful picture and post featuring our Smoke Cascade Sandal. Our sandals are paired brilliantly with an amazing floral legging, and a cable knit sweater with a large enough weave pattern to soften up the design.

Eating Right to Look and Feel Your Best

You’ll often find fashion finds and tips on this blog, but for today I want to go a little deeper and explore another topic that’s close to my heart: eating! Yes, I’m talking about food!

What you eat has a profound impact on how you feel, look and carry yourself. And because I’m not a proponent of starving yourself, I like to seek out recipes that taste good and make you feel good too. You can look great and feel great at any size when you eat healthy. There’s a glow and sparkle in your eye, and a bounce in your step, when you eat tasty, yet nutritious foods.

An easy way to start controlling the types of foods you eat is through cookbooks. Without instructions, I can’t do anything in the kitchen. So I turned to my favorite chef, Thomas Keller’s book, Ad Hoc and got to work. While some options in this cookbook border on the decadent, there are a lot of healthy and quick options that can satisfy any taste bud. So get inspired, grab a cook book, and get your year started on the right foot.

Two Fashion Resolutions You Should Keep.

Mix your metals.

It’s time to ditch the mentality that you can only wear silver with silver, and gold with gold. Silver, Gold, Bronze, Rose Gold… These metallics look amazing when mixed properly.

It’s all about color

Cobalt Blue, Sea Foam Green… Ditch the black and grey and put on some eye-catching color. You were meant to show your sparkle, and the right color top or dress can make that happen.

Go bold for 2014.

What to wear New Years.

Figuring out what to wear New Year’s Eve can be just as frustrating as deciding what to do! Luckily, I’ve found the cutest outfit ideas on Pinterest. I really wanted to share it with y’all in hopes of making your New Year’s outfit hunt that much easier. I love a touch of sparkle and think this is the perfect occasion to add some sparkle into your outfit. Shine bright into 2014!

2013… It’s a wrap. Hello, 2014.

As the year comes to a close, I’d like to reflect back on how successful the Independent Fashion Agents (IFA) have been in their pursuits. We’ve gone through ups and downs and have come out stronger than ever. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. All of your efforts are unique and special to me. If one thing is for sure, I know 2014 has something special in store for us: success and a pinch of sparkles!

Wear some bling, and eat some bling this holiday season.

Wear some bling, and eat some bling this holiday season.

We are all about sparkle at fibi & clo, and this holiday season is no exception. An easy way to brighten up your holiday parties is through creative pastries. These glittered cupcakes add a nice touch to your table spread. Take your traditional pastry recipes and top them off with some gold or silver candy glitter or balls. When you present them at your holiday party or shoe party, wear your Cascade sandals for a “wow” entrance. It’s that little touch of sparkle that makes all the difference.

New York Fashion Week 2013

AnaLiza and her friends hit up New York’s Fashion Week a couple weeks ago. Her two favorite runway shows were Mara Hoffman and Herve Leger. “Sparkle was the highlight at Herve Leger. And bold colors, mixed patterns and metallics caught my eye at Mara Hoffman.”

Ladies, this is good news for us because it proves that bling is and always will be on trend. And when it comes to the bold colors and patterns of the season, you can be sure that statement making sandals will seal the deal.
